Power Plant Installation Design Engineer

About the role

A Power Plant Installation Design Engineer position is open at Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The engineer joins the Power Plant Installation Design area, part of a multidisciplinary, transnational team that integrates power plant structures for the A400M programme and other aircraft platforms. The team works with an agile mindset, delivering structural design solutions, supporting live aircraft and digital mock-ups, and troubleshooting issues in production and in service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop power plant installation definitions and electrical system installations (harnesses, supports, brackets, electrical boxes) from architecture through detailed design.
• Specify mechanical components for purchasing and prepare technical documentation for manufacturing, assembly and harness fabrication.
• Interface with suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders in design reviews, test reports and project follow-up meetings.
• Concur on assembly and maintainability instructions and support production troubleshooting, repairs and customer queries.
• Maintain electrical databases (e.g. SIDIE), manage requirements and produce design documentation plans, status reports and KPIs.
• Contribute to design manuals, design principles and technological developments, supporting configuration control and change processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Industrial (Mechanical) Engineering.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in aircraft design, including at least 6 months in design activities.
• Ability to accept design delegation.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, structures design, configuration and change processes.
• Advanced English (B2 or higher) and fluent Spanish, written and spoken.
• Motivated, proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous learning.
• Nice to have: electromechanical or power plant installation design experience, and electrical installation design experience (harness design, electrical diagrams, See-XP/Capital Logic, SIDIE).

Required skills

• Proficiency in CATIA and PDM/PLM tools, plus standard office software.
• Electrical installation design (harness design principles, electrical wiring diagram tools such as See-XP/Capital Logic, electrical databases such as SIDIE).
