Product Director - Study Operations (AI-Native Clinical Research Platform)
astrazeneca
Job description
About the role
Evinova, a digital health company for clinical research, is looking for an entrepreneurial, AI-fluent Product Director to take ownership of a core product area and build it from the ground up. This is a founding product leadership role: you will define the vision, strategy and roadmap of an AI-native product that changes how clinical development and clinical operations teams work, and you will act as general manager of your product area with significant autonomy. It is an individual contributor role leading a matrixed, cross-functional team without direct reports.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap, and drive rapid hypothesis validation through prototyping and experimentation.
- Own the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through development, launch, go-to-market and post-launch iteration based on usage data and customer feedback.
- Architect the product with AI and machine learning at its core, such as intelligent automation, contextual recommendations, predictive insights and generative AI workflows, working with data science and engineering teams.
- Design intuitive, collaborative workflows that connect across Evinova's modules and ease users' change management journey.
- Partner with a matrixed product organization and commercial to drive connectivity across modules, avoid over-fitting to one customer, and iterate toward product-market fit.
- Communicate product strategy, progress and trade-offs to executive leadership and key enterprise customers, and define success metrics such as adoption, engagement, revenue contribution and clinical trial cycle-time reduction.
- Treat the product area as your own business, balancing speed-to-market with regulatory compliance (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, HIPAA), and build partnerships with data providers and standards bodies (CDISC, HL7 FHIR).
Required profile
- 8+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years in a director-level or senior product leadership capacity owning a product area end-to-end.
- Domain experience in clinical trials or life sciences, with knowledge of EDC, CDMS, CTMS and eTMF ecosystems.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial track record: at least one product taken from zero to one, as founder, early-stage PM or intrapreneur.
- Proven ability to operate in enterprise B2B SaaS environments with complex stakeholders and long sales cycles.
- Preferred: founder or co-founder experience, or first product hire at an early-stage start-up.
Required skills
- Deep, hands-on experience building AI/ML-powered products, including model development lifecycles, training data strategies, prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks.
- Ability to evaluate AI/ML model outputs, precision/recall trade-offs and human-in-the-loop designs.
- Knowledge of clinical trial data standards (CDISC SDTM/ADaM, CDASH) and regulatory submission workflows preferred.
- Strong technical acumen: partnering with engineers and data scientists and reviewing technical specifications.
