Product Manager – Communications Systems

About the role

A vacancy for Communication Systems Product Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the Communications Architectures department.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate overall communications system engineering activities, ensuring time, cost and quality targets are met.
• Lead the design and documentation of L1 communications systems and support L1 integration, verification, certification and security accreditation.
• Manage technical baselines, progress reviews, configuration management and interface with customers in communications working groups.
• Validate L2 documentation (SRDs, SDNs, EIRDs, SIDs) produced by communications teams.
• Lead L1 verification requirements, coverage matrices and support certification and qualification plans.
• Coordinate system reviews and configuration control for associated communications systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (PhD in Telecommunications Engineering is a plus).
• More than 5 years of experience in system engineering or communications/avionics roles.
• Knowledge of aircraft and communications architecture for platforms such as MRTT, C295/CN235/C212, A400M, etc.
• Familiarity with system‑engineering processes (DPs, ABDs) and airworthiness certification (EASA or INTA).
• Experience with voice radio, SATCOM, intercom, IP/Digital communications, tactical datalinks (Link16, Link22) and cyber‑security considerations.
• Proficiency with tools such as DOORS, DMS, Simulink, Matlab and CAMEO.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
