Telecommunication Engineer for Radio Systems

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Telecommunication Engineer to join the Radio Systems team on the EF2000 platform and other military aircraft programmes. The role involves designing, integrating and qualifying communication systems for a range of Airbus defence aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate radio systems on the EF2000 platform and support other Airbus DS aircraft such as C295, MRTT, A400M, ED, SIRTAP.
• Allocate aircraft requirements to a communications system and define its architecture and specifications.
• Produce engineering design documentation and manage the full design process, including design reviews.
• Lead communications system design, integration, qualification and certification activities.
• Support feasibility studies for new products and user needs, and manage supplier technical interactions.
• Participate in certification and qualification processes and prepare technical publications (AFM, FCOM, etc.).
• Assist transversal areas such as services, production, procurement and support test campaign sequencing, procedures and real‑time analysis.
• Contribute to R&T programmes related to SDR/SCA radios and stay up‑to‑date with ICAO, FAA, EASA, EUROCONTROL regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in systems engineering or avionics development.
• Strong knowledge of communication functions on aircraft platforms.
• International project experience with good English and Spanish communication skills.
• Ability to work under strict timescales within a multifunctional team.
