Project Executive - Construction and Development

About the role

Primark is looking for a Project Executive in Madrid to head up and be fully responsible for construction and development projects delivering major refurbishment and refit initiatives for Primark within existing stores. Projects may be in various stages of development and located across different regions of Europe. The role is fixed-term and covers maternity leave, so quick assimilation of an existing project portfolio is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality and health and safety.
• Prepare the Brief, Programme and Cost Plan for projects under your control and liaise with Heads of Construction and Construction & Feasibility Managers to develop feasibility plans.
• Control overall spend against budget, manage project plans and report progress, risks and issues to the Head of Construction.
• Manage risk, change and contractor performance, and troubleshoot barriers with stakeholder support.
• Lead external professional teams and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners and suppliers.

Required profile

• Chartered construction professional (RICS, CIOB, RIBA, PMP etc.) with 5 years' experience in construction, refurbishment and project management, or significant retail/shopfit experience.
• Corporate client or consultancy background highly desirable.
• Fluent English and proven managerial experience, including change management.
• Ability to handle complex, ambiguous situations and to keep sensitive information confidential.

Required skills

• Detailed knowledge of legal and contractual documents supporting construction and development projects.
• Strong computer and IT literacy.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
