QA Automation Engineer

About the role

DKB Code Factory is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join its collaborative, learning-first tech hub. As the quality advocate of the team, you will help shape testing practices, drive automation efforts and ensure reliable software is delivered, working closely with developers, product stakeholders and fellow engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the team's testing approach, being the go-to person for testing topics in an agile environment.
• Ensure test readiness across infrastructure, environments and test data so tests run smoothly and reliably.
• Design, implement and expand automated test coverage, focusing on backend systems and APIs.
• Work with developers and product stakeholders to identify risks, clarify requirements and prevent defects early.
• Analyse test failures and defects, support root-cause analysis and find recurring quality issues and improvement opportunities.
• Share regular testing insights, results and quality metrics with stakeholders to support release decisions.
• Contribute to Continuous Testing and Continuous Delivery practices.

Required profile

• Experience in software quality assurance and test automation, with knowledge of testing principles, test design techniques and risk-based testing.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks, backend testing and API validation, including integration, contract, component and end-to-end testing.
• Programming experience with Java, Kotlin or similar, and openness to learn mobile QA.
• Familiarity with SQL and database validation, test environments, test data management, mocking and service virtualization.
• Collaborative, proactive problem solver who communicates well across functions and speaks fluent English.
