Railway Systems BIM Modeller

About the role

AECOM is recruiting a Railway Systems BIM Modeller for its Rail Systems team within the Spain Enterprise Capabilities Office in Madrid. The team develops international rail projects (traction power substations, power distribution, catenary, telecommunications, signalling, station and technical building design) and supports design, construction, as-built documentation and feasibility studies. The role suits candidates with a solid base in Bentley software, preferably also able to work in Revit.

Key responsibilities

• Support the engineering team in understanding project installations and resolving interfaces
• Create geolocated BIM models from scratch, with project and shared parameters, linked to other disciplines and monitored for levels and grids
• Create and manage parametric families for rail systems (conduits, cable trays, ducts, electrical and mechanical equipment, communication devices)
• Produce drawings using view templates, filters, title blocks and sheet lists, printed to project standards
• Attend BIM team meetings to agree quality and deliveries, analyse the BIM Execution Plan and implement it
• Take part in clash detection and BIM coordination meetings with other discipline coordinators
• Participate in design submissions with the engineering team

Required profile

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience, at least 2 years on Bentley software (MicroStation, Types of Models, Callouts, Open Building)
• Experience with ProjectWise
• Good level of 2D drawing and diagramming skills
• Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD; BIM 360, ACC and Navisworks are positively valued
• Automation skills with Dynamo or similar tools are positively valued
• Teamwork spirit and willingness to help
• English at B2/C1 level
