Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests aboard a luxury cruise ship, delivering exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience throughout the voyage. This role combines front‑desk duties with guest relations, financial transactions, and coordination with multiple ship departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality guest services at the reception desk, handling enquiries, requests and complaints promptly.
• Coordinate guest needs, including restaurant reservations, wake‑up calls, mailing services, DVD/CD rentals, and newspaper deliveries.
• Process financial transactions such as cash payments, foreign‑currency exchange, credit‑card authorisations and cash advances, reconciling cash with the Financial Officer at the end of each cruise.
• Maintain clear communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and uphold moral integrity in all interactions.

Required profile

• Preferably at least 2 years experience in guest‑facing or front‑desk roles within an international 5‑star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong administrative abilities, well‑organized, self‑motivated and able to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent fluent English (verbal and written); additional language skills in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French are highly desirable.
• Adaptable, quick‑thinking, and capable of making decisions in a fast‑paced setting.
