Reservations Department Internship

About the role

SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort located in the Port Forum waterfront district, is looking for a Reservations intern. Reporting to the Reservations Manager, the intern assists guests with their reservations, gives tailored recommendations and provides support throughout the booking journey.

Key responsibilities

• Handle guest room reservation requests, modifications and cancellations according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist guests with reservation enquiries and provide personalised recommendations.
• Ensure reservation accuracy across market segments, channels, routing instructions, traces and guest profiles.
• Review and verify daily reservations so that guest preferences and special requests are correctly passed to the Front Office team.
• Identify errors in rate and room mapping, offers and distribution channels and escalate them to the Revenue Manager.
• Monitor and follow up on potentially fraudulent reservations and manage no-shows and non-guaranteed reservations to maximise inventory use.
• Maintain rate parity across distribution channels and communicate with Sales, Front Office, Concierge, Finance and other stakeholders.
• Drive upselling opportunities in line with guidelines.

Required profile

• Student of a bachelor's or master's degree in hospitality management or a related field.
• Ability to sign a school agreement for a preferred duration of 6 months.
• Fluency in English, Spanish and French.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and willingness to try different approaches.
