Retail Associate – 18-hour shift

About the role

Columbia Sportswear Company is hiring a retail associate in Oviedo for an 18-hour shift. With more than 430 retail stores worldwide, its associates act as brand ambassadors, ensuring product availability, creating visual displays, answering customer questions and running an efficient checkout process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits and availability, and by explaining and recommending merchandise.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness and safety, and restock the sales floor.
• Process cash register transactions such as sales, returns, exchanges and loyalty programme sign-ups accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish and process incoming and outgoing product flow to support store profitability.

Required profile

• No specific education required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Age 16 or older.
• Ability to move around actively in a physically demanding environment, lifting items up to 40 lb, and to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability for a flexible retail schedule that changes seasonally and according to local business trends.

Required skills

• Operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Using other retail software tools.

Expected pay is 1,221 euros, reflecting the gross pay for full-time positions; new hires are usually paid the hiring rate of the specific store, and prior experience is taken into account.
