Retail Associate – 40-hour week, fixed position

About the role

Columbia Sportswear Company is hiring a retail associate for a fixed position with a 40-hour week. With more than 430 retail stores worldwide, its associates act as brand ambassadors, ensuring product availability, creating visual displays, answering customer questions and running an efficient checkout. The role also supports the Store Leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits and availability, and by understanding customers' needs and preferences.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness and safety, and retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room or other inventory locations.
• Process cash register transactions such as sales, returns and exchanges, and connect customers to the loyalty programme.
• Contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing and processing incoming and outgoing product flow.

Required profile

• No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Age 16 or older.
• Ability to move around actively in a physical environment, lifting items up to 40 lbs, and occasional exposure to dust and noise.
• Clear communication with others and a flexible schedule, which may change seasonally.

Required skills

• Operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Use of other retail software tools.

Expected pay is €1,397.74 for full-time positions; new hires are usually paid the hiring rate of the specific store, with prior experience taken into account.
