Retail Associate – 40 Hours with Visual Merchandising Duties

About the role

Columbia Sportswear Company is hiring a retail associate in Santa Agnès de Malanyanes for a 40-hour position that includes visual merchandising duties. With more than 430 retail stores worldwide, the company relies on its associates to keep products available on the sales floor, create attractive displays, answer customer questions and run an efficient checkout. You act as a brand ambassador and help support the Store Leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits and availability, and by understanding customers' needs and preferences.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness and safety, and retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room or other inventory locations.
• Process all cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges, loyalty programme sign-ups) accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing and processing incoming and outgoing product flow.

Required profile

• No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Age 16 or older.
• Able to move around actively in a physical environment, lifting items up to 40 lbs, and occasionally work in a place with dust and noise.
• Clear communication with others and a flexible schedule that changes seasonally and according to local business trends.

Required skills

• Operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Using other retail software tools.

Expected pay is €1,397.74 for full-time positions; new hires are usually paid the hiring rate of the specific store, and prior experience is taken into account.
