Retail Associate

About the role

Columbia Sportswear Company, with over 430 retail stores worldwide, is looking for a Retail Associate in Las Rozas (Madrid). The associate represents the company's brands and products to consumers, helps them find products that match their needs, supports the flow of goods into the store and contributes to store profitability through accurate and efficient processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain store and visual merchandising, cleanliness and safety standards.
• Retrieve merchandise from the stockroom and other inventory locations to restock the sales floor.
• Process cash register transactions such as sales, returns and exchanges accurately and efficiently, and connect customers to loyalty programmes.
• Receive and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
• Answer customer questions about product features, benefits and availability, and help customers make buying decisions.
• Learn the products, policies, procedures and programmes needed for day-to-day operations.

Required profile

• No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Experience interacting with and serving consumers.
• Able to work in a physically active environment, moving items weighing up to 40 lbs and occasionally working in a place with dust and noise.
• Clear communication with others.
• Flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and according to local business trends.

Required skills

• Operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Using other retail software tools.
