SAP Commerce Cloud Backend Platform Engineer

About the role

SQLI, a European leader in customer experience and digital transformation, is recruiting an experienced SAP Commerce Cloud Backend Platform Engineer in Valencia. The role owns and evolves the backend platform of the SAP Commerce Cloud environment, combining deep SAP Commerce expertise with platform engineering, DevSecOps, cloud technologies and modern integration practices to deliver a secure, scalable and reliable eCommerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the SAP Commerce Cloud platform lifecycle, including patching, upgrades, security notes, dependency management and authorization concepts.
• Drive platform-wide initiatives on performance, scalability, resilience, caching, clustering and session management.
• Design, maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and release management.
• Integrate and manage security tooling, including vulnerability scanning and compliance solutions such as JFrog Xray.
• Support production rollouts, platform operations, incident resolution and continuous service improvements.
• Modernize backend integrations, including legacy RFC-based connections and APIs, and enable AI-related capabilities.
• Build reusable platform components, templates and accelerators using SAP Commerce Cloud, Cloud Foundry and Azure Container Apps.
• Contribute to backend architecture standards, best practices, technical guardrails and reference architectures, and collaborate with developers, architects, security teams and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris).
• Solid Java background, including Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale eCommerce platforms.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and release management.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization and access management, and experience with security scanning tools such as JFrog Xray.
• Understanding of caching, session handling, clustering, high availability and application performance optimization.
