Security Officer I

About the role

Hyatt Regency Trinidad is seeking a Security Officer I to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and property. The role involves proactive monitoring, rapid response to incidents and collaboration with emergency services to maintain a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular surveillance and patrols of the hotel premises.
• Escort guests and employees upon request and respond to emergency calls.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, including observations, witness statements and signatures.
• Prevent loss and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and restraining trespassers.
• Assess operational risks and safety hazards.
• Evacuate guests during fires or other emergencies and activate alarms.
• Coordinate with law‑enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Perform additional tasks and assignments as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 CXC passes including English (Grade 3 or above).
• At least 2 years of security experience.
• Keen observation skills and a strong desire to serve guests in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19.
• Professional appearance, well‑groomed and physically agile, capable of standing for long periods and walking moderate distances.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
