Senior Composite Design Engineer - F1

About the role

Bold Valuable Tech is seeking a Senior Composite Design Engineer to lead the design and development of high‑performance composite laminates and structures for Formula 1 applications. You will work closely with technical leads and the project management office to ensure designs meet strict performance and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and verify initial specifications, produce statements of work, drawings and lay‑up tables.
• Design and develop composite laminates, tooling, patterns and CFRP moulds for autoclave and out‑of‑autoclave (OoA) processes.
• Create detailed component, tooling, jig and fixture models using CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
• Apply GD&T principles and account for composite material limitations when defining tolerances.
• Maintain stable parametric models and manage large master product files.
• Support junior designers with technical queries on materials and CAD structures.
• Plan project workload, track progress in an agile environment and use cloud‑based collaboration tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in composite design, preferably in EV or motorsport.
• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent R&D design experience.
• Strong knowledge of CATIA V5/3DX and/or Siemens NX.
• Proven structural design experience with composite manufacturing processes (prepreg, cores, tooling, inserts).
• Fluent English communication skills.
