Senior Data Engineer - Hybrid

About the role

EY GDS Spain is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its global team and help move projects onto a new track. You will work with top industry leaders on international projects mostly built on Azure, GCP and AWS, designing robust solutions on modern data engines such as Databricks so that clients and business partners can make efficient decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Build data platforms that enable clients and business partners to make efficient decisions
• Design robust solutions on state-of-the-art data engines such as Databricks
• Solve complex business problems on a large scale and take part in cross-functional initiatives
• Collaborate with engineers, product and project managers and partners around the world

Required profile

• 4 to 6 years of experience in data engineering
• 3 years of experience with Databricks, including data pipelines and Unity Catalog
• 3 years of experience in big data
• Background in data warehousing, ETL, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modelling
• Experience with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
• Experience with at least one public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Strong experience in relational database design and non-relational storage, and with data marts, data warehouses, data lakes and data mesh
• Very good verbal and written English
• Experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps and CI/CD principles
• Ideal candidate has knowledge of Parquet, Iceberg and Avro, and of Docker and Kubernetes
