About the role
AECOM is hiring a Senior Engineer with experience in bridges and/or structures design to join its Enterprise Capabilities team in Madrid. The Bridges and Structures team delivers structural bridge engineering designs across many countries and works on large, multidisciplinary Design and Build projects for public and private clients, from conceptual and feasibility studies through to detailed design.

- Coordinate and lead small design teams focused on structural design for a specific project.
- Carry out non-complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials and construction techniques.
- Work autonomously within established procedures, with latitude to set work priorities.
- Perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings, including interdisciplinary reviews.
- Ensure project technical goals, milestones and budgets are met.
- Prepare complex project deliverables and supervise and mentor junior technical and support staff.
Required profile
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
- Proven track record in bridges and/or structures design, with some experience working with international and multicultural teams (more than 5 years).
- Experience with international standards such as AASHTO, AREMA, Australian codes and British Standards.
- Fluent English, oral and written.
- Ability to solve complex issues with limited direction in the bridges and structures field.
- Experience in the North America / ANZ region is considered favourably.
Required skills
- Engineering software for bridges and structures; Midas Civil is preferred, but CSiBridge, SAP2000 and others are also considered.
What we offer
- Work on structurally significant transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Collaboration with a multicultural, multidisciplinary team and access to BIM, automation and parametric design tools.
- Training, career growth and a competitive package with flexible working arrangements and the possibility of remote work.
- An inclusive workplace and, depending on employment status, benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life and disability cover, paid leave, retirement savings plan and employee stock purchase plan.
