Senior Internal Auditor (Business & IT)

About the role

ING is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor (Business & IT) to join its Corporate Audit Services (CAS) team in Madrid. Within ING's global CAS function, you will provide independent, objective assurance mainly across ING Spain and Portugal, covering business processes and their interaction with technology, data and IT controls. The CAS Spain team covers audit for ING Spain and Portugal and works alongside international audit teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, engineering, information systems or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in external audit, preferably in a Big Four firm or an internal audit function; experience in financial services is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience auditing business processes and assessing related IT dependencies, technology risks and key IT controls.
• Good knowledge of governance, risk management and internal control principles, and the ability to turn complex matters into clear audit conclusions.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Spanish is required for effective engagement with local stakeholders.

Required skills

• Analytical, problem-solving, planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge senior management constructively.
• Advantageous: professional certification such as CIA, CISA, CISM or CRMA; experience auditing banking products, financial or non-financial risk in a regulated institution; knowledge of IT general controls, cybersecurity, cloud, data governance or third-party technology risk; experience with data analytics, visualisation or audit automation tools; experience in multidisciplinary or international audit teams.
