Senior Java Developer - Tax Administration System

About the role

Miratech is hiring a Senior Java Developer in Barcelona to take part in the development and maintenance of custom software for a large European public-sector client. The project is a tax administration system covering the full life cycle of tax declarations, processing and calculations, integrated with several external systems, within a team of 20+ people.

Key responsibilities

• Implement software components according to design specifications
• Perform system integration and testing, troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Carry out unit testing of software components
• Help estimate project effort and delivery timelines
• Collaborate with teammates and communicate with project stakeholders so progress stays efficient and predictable
• Give technical input into product roadmaps
• Take part in incident analysis and prioritization (triage)
• Support and optimize CI/CD processes

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in Java development
• Strong experience with the Spring Framework and Quarkus
• Understanding of microservices architecture and containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or other RDBMS)
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and messaging (Kafka, ActiveMQ)
• Good understanding of testing principles
• Confident English communication and collaboration with stakeholders and distributed teams
• Nice to have: Angular front-end experience and German or Swiss German
