Senior Manager Automation

About the role

GEA is looking for a Senior Manager Automation in Alcobendas to lead automation project execution, manage engineering teams and support business growth through customer-focused solutions. The role combines project management, people leadership and technical automation expertise, acting as a key link between customers, project teams, engineering resources and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Manage automation, regular and service projects from initiation to completion, within approved budgets and customer specifications
• Lead, supervise, evaluate and mentor Automation Engineers and Lead Automation Engineers, and promote project methodologies and engineering standards
• Act as main contact for customers on scope, planning and delivery, negotiate timelines and turn customer needs into business opportunities
• Work with Sales and After Sales, estimate projects and support quotations and proposals
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering tools, methods and project processes

Required profile

• Master's degree in Automation Engineering or a related field
• Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
• At least 5 years of experience in Automation and/or Electrical Engineering, including leading teams and managing customer-facing projects
• English at B2/C1 level; French, Portuguese and/or German is an advantage
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
