Senior MEP Coordinator

About the role

Group IPS is looking for a manager for its building installations engineering department, based in Madrid. The candidate will lead the building services team within a group dedicated to the design of building projects and coordinate with the group's structural and architectural teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the facilities team, coordinate staff, manage projects and clients, and work with architecture, structural engineering and other departments.
• Manage and supervise building facilities projects, including mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, sanitation, fire protection and related systems.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers and other construction professionals to integrate MEP systems into the overall project.
• Supervise installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with local, national and international regulations, safety and energy efficiency standards.
• Prepare and coordinate budgets, technical drawings and specifications, using project management software and the Autodesk platform.
• Inspect and analyse technical issues, propose solutions and adjust designs to site conditions.
• Coordinate and supervise technical teams and contractors, report to project managers and contractors, and ensure health and safety policies are followed on site.
• Assist in preparing documentation for permits and licenses.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 7 years of experience as an MEP team coordinator and over 10 years of total experience.
• English and Spanish; other languages are a plus.
• Experience in data centers or similar mission-critical projects, and in other building services such as fire protection and acoustics, are a plus.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of building systems design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, electrical circuits and lighting controls.
• Knowledge of software such as REVIT MEP is a plus.
• Coordination skills, initiative and attention to detail.
