Senior PHP/WordPress Developer

About the role

Fever, a global tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is hiring a Senior PHP/WordPress Developer. The role sits behind the company's iOS and Android apps and website, which are built and maintained by its engineering team. The position is remote and based in Spain.

Key responsibilities

• During the first month: join team planning, grooming and retrospectives; learn the tech stack, CI/CD workflows and infrastructure; merge and deploy several pull requests to production; take part in Fever Original experiences.
• After 3 months: solve complex problems, design and implement architecture, write production-grade PHP code for high traffic, and work with stakeholders to define and prioritise product development.
• By month 6: own parts of the system, launch large-scale initiatives, improve performance and reliability, mentor colleagues through code reviews, architecture sessions and pair programming, and take part in team-building.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of WordPress, PHP and the Symfony framework.
• Ability to create and modify WordPress plugins and themes, and to handle several WordPress sites.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and with cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Self-starter, highly productive, and fluent in business English.
• Compliance with coding standards.
