Senior Project Director

About the role

The Senior Project Director will own the planning, execution and delivery of a high‑profile strategic initiative of significant importance to the organisation. Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, this senior leader will coordinate multiple workstreams, manage diverse stakeholders and ensure the programme meets ambitious timelines, quality standards and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of a high‑profile international strategic initiative, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, governance frameworks, budgets, timelines and resource allocations.
• Monitor performance against KPIs, manage risks, and implement mitigation actions across multiple workstreams.
• Facilitate executive steering committees, high‑level meetings and confidential briefings with senior stakeholders, partners and government representatives.
• Oversee financial stewardship, track expenditures and ensure compliance with financial governance standards.
• Negotiate complex agreements, build consensus among competing interests and represent the organisation in strategic discussions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience delivering complex, cross‑functional projects in international environments.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and external partners.
• Strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and a track record of maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to operate autonomously, make strategic decisions and resolve high‑impact challenges.
• Experience in governance, risk management and financial oversight of large programmes.
