Senior Project Manager – Industrial EPCM Projects

About the role

Group-IPS is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a large industrial project based in Italy, operating from our Madrid office. You will act as the client’s trusted partner on‑site, overseeing the full project lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of all project phases, from early consulting to execution and close‑out.
• Lead planning, budgeting, cost estimation, quality management, permitting, procurement and contract administration.
• Serve as the main interface with clients, contractors, authorities and internal engineering teams.
• Manage project documentation, weekly site meetings, minutes and monthly progress reports.
• Validate contractor certifications, progress claims and variations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, ensuring milestones and contractual obligations are met.
• Integrate contractor schedules into a master plan and adapt to site constraints.
• Supervise on‑site and off‑site activities, ensuring safety, quality and compliance with local legislation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Industrial, Mechanical or related).
• 15–20 years of proven experience managing large‑scale industrial projects, preferably in primary industries such as metals, mining or steel.
• Extensive on‑site construction and execution experience on complex industrial sites.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; Italian is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence (Category B).

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using MS Project for schedule management.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD for technical drawing review.
