Senior Scrum Master

About the role

Mars is hiring a Senior Scrum Master in Madrid to support its digital growth capabilities across the Growth, Digital and Platforms organization. The role applies the GDP Agile Way of Working through Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and other delivery practices, and covers not only individual Scrum teams but also collaboration, delivery flow, dependency management and alignment across teams and organizational boundaries.

Key responsibilities

• Support multiple teams or a complex product or value stream, working with Product Owners, Product Managers, engineers, testers, UX specialists, architects, analysts, platform teams, business stakeholders, vendors and external delivery partners.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Delivery Management, Agile Program Management, Portfolio, Platform and Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, Finance, Release Management and other functions to deliver outcomes defined in the organization's OGSM.
• Improve collaboration, delivery flow, dependency management and alignment across teams and organizational boundaries.
• Influence without formal authority, challenge ineffective practices constructively and give Agile delivery guidance to teams and senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years as a Scrum Master, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead or Agile Coach.
• Demonstrated success supporting multiple teams or a complex, cross-functional product or value stream.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Business or a related discipline preferred.
• Certified Scrum Professional, PSM II or III, SAFe Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, ICAgile or equivalent advanced Agile qualification preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Lean and Agile principles.
• Facilitation of planning events, retrospectives, workshops and decision-making sessions.
• Coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
• Agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence or Miro.
• Experience with distributed, multicultural, cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

Nice to have

• SAFe, Agile Release Trains or scaled Agile experience.
• Release Train Engineer, Agile Program Lead or Scrum of Scrums facilitator experience.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud platforms and experience with external vendors and delivery partners.
