Senior Software Engineer - High Performance & Scale

About the role

Fever, a global platform for culture and live entertainment, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in high-performance systems. The role is based in Spain and is 100% home office friendly, allowing you to work from anywhere in Spain. You will help shape the backbone of the platform behind the iOS and Android apps and the website.

Key responsibilities

• During the first month: join a structured onboarding program, set up your local environment, learn the Python-based stack, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, and run your first code in production.
• After 3 months: design and implement end-to-end features, take part in architectural discussions and propose improvements to services and APIs, and work with event-driven systems focused on performance, reliability and scalability.
• By month 6: take ownership of core components and help evolve their architecture, lead by example through code reviews, design sessions and mentoring, and contribute to best practices in scalability, observability and system design.

Required profile

• Proven software development excellence and a keen eye for code quality.
• Ability to handle services with high concurrency and high volume requests.
• Proficiency in business English.

Required skills

• Building maintainable, scalable code with test-driven development and design patterns.
• Relational databases and SQL.
• Event streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Datadog or similar profiling and monitoring tools.
• Ideally: Python (Django/Fast API), PostgreSQL and Redis, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
