Senior Software Engineer - Java

About the role

Fever, a global tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join its engineering team. The position is based in Spain and is 100% home office friendly. The ideal candidate cares about code quality, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to help shape the future of entertainment.

Key responsibilities

• First month: structured onboarding, setting up the local environment, learning the architecture and observability tools, and getting your first code running in production.
• After 3 months: design and implement end-to-end features, take part in architectural discussions and improve services and APIs, and work with event-driven systems focused on performance, reliability and scalability.
• By month 6: take ownership of core components, lead by example through code reviews, design sessions and mentoring, and contribute to best practices in scalability, observability and system design.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of building maintainable, scalable code with test-driven development and design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience handling services with high concurrency and high volume requests.
• Proficiency in business English.

Required skills

• Event streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency with Datadog or similar profiling and monitoring tools.
• Nice to have: Java (J2EE/Java 25), Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, NoSQL databases, Docker / Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ and Agile methodologies.
