Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (Repayment UX)

About the role

Affirm's Repayment UX Engineering team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer specializing in React Native development. The team is full-stack and located entirely in Europe within the same time zone, and works remotely from anywhere in Spain. It builds user journeys that help over 20 million people pay back loans.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguity and keeping everyone supported during delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics on ideation, technical constraints and risk-informed decisions.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues and lead their resolution.
• Create and monitor metrics, escalate when needed, and support on-call and "keep the lights on" work.
• Set or improve code review and design standards, share knowledge through writing and tech talks, and mentor team members.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, preferably with declarative UI frameworks such as React Native.
• Experience defining a technical plan for a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design.
• Ability to make significant changes in a large codebase safely, with tools and practices that support the team.
• Ownership of your own growth, proactive feedback-seeking, and strong verbal and written communication.

Required skills

• Javascript/TypeScript (or similar languages).
• React Native.
