Senior Underwriter Financial Lines (MLC & FI)

About the role

AIG Europe S.A. (Spain branch) is hiring a Senior Underwriter for Financial Lines in Madrid. The role covers assigned risks in MLC (Management Liabilities Commercial) and FI (Financial Institutions) within the Financial Lines department, in line with the terms of the personal underwriting authority.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite assigned risks in MLC and FI lines, exercising judgment and negotiating sound business decisions within the level of authority granted.
• Develop relationships with brokers and identify cross-selling opportunities with other Lines of Business.
• Drive the sales process on new products.
• Assist the Front Desk Unit / Customer Service Group.
• Maintain a list of targets and generate submissions to meet non-binding (NB) targets.
• Review, evaluate and recommend modifications to underwriting guidelines.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in commercial insurance at Financial Lines departments.
• Degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration or Risk Management preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Outgoing and entrepreneurial personality, with strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, teamwork and client focus, with problem-solving and solution orientation.
