Site Service Engineer - Proton Therapy

About the role

HITACHI EUROPE S.A. is looking for a Site Service Engineer for its Proton Therapy project in Madrid. The engineer provides on-site service and maintenance of the Proton Therapy system as part of the Hitachi team, reporting to the Site Manager. The role requires mechanical and/or electrical knowledge and relevant work experience, and full compliance with worker safety, radiation protection, technical and mechanical procedures and facility protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the operation of the system and take actions to improve its performance
• Perform equipment maintenance independently and collaboratively
• Fulfill work orders and business procedures
• Work in compliance with all regulatory standards
• Adopt new technology, products and processes in daily operations
• Respond promptly to service calls and communicate with customers to ensure their satisfaction
• Manage the work schedule and spare parts usage to maximise effectiveness and minimise costs

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance of electrical equipment or industrial plants, or quality assurance/control of electrical engineering
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering documents such as schematics, wiring and piping diagrams
• Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments (DVM, oscilloscope, micrometers)
• Highly preferred: electrical worker qualification certificate; preferred: CSN licence and/or radioactive installation supervisor certificate in radiotherapy
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility with working hours and shifts, familiarity with high-voltage, radiation and electromagnetic areas, and ability to handle manual and light physical tasks
• Basic knowledge of MS Office, programming (preferred) and PC technology; proficiency in English and Spanish

What we offer

• Salary range of 24,600 to 39,900 EUR, depending on experience
