Software Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles & HD Maps

About the role

Join TomTom's HD Map division and work with a distributed team of engineers on high‑impact projects for autonomous vehicles. You will help design, build, and operate scalable backend services that power next‑generation mapping solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Develop highly available, resilient backend applications using Python, Java and cloud technologies.
• Drive technical decisions to improve engineering, testing, and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new interfaces with existing architectures.

Required profile

• Computer Science fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• 2+ years of professional software development or data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Java; ability to adapt to other object‑oriented languages as needed.
• Experience building cloud services and following full‑stack software development life‑cycle best practices.
• Proactive attitude, strong learning ability, and fluent written and verbal English.
