Software Engineer Intern - SoC Simulation

About the role

Marvell's Virtual Platforms team creates functional simulations for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, helping accelerate innovation and shorten time to market. This internship is open to students currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering at a Spanish university.

Key responsibilities

• Develop functional models to simulate SoC architectures.
• Write embedded software programs to test and validate these models.
• Contribute to improving the test automation infrastructure, including scripting and automation tasks.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to debug and refine models and test cases.
• Document work clearly to support knowledge sharing and future development.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering at a Spanish university.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Willingness to learn, proactive attitude and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming.
• Familiarity with embedded systems concepts and interest in firmware development.
• Nice to have: ARM architecture basics, processor simulation tools (e.g. SystemC, Gem5, SIMICS, QEMU), compiler concepts, basic network protocol knowledge, and Python for scripting or automation.

The expected base pay is 11-16 EUR per hour, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, location and market conditions. Candidates are not allowed to use AI tools during interviews, and the role may involve access to technology subject to U.S. export control regulations.
