Software Requirements & Test Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Madrid as a Software Requirements and Test Engineer. You will work within the Airborne Connectivity team to design, develop, and validate high‑integrity embedded software for military and secure communication platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document software requirements derived from system functional specifications.
• Develop comprehensive verification test cases and procedures linked to those requirements.
• Maintain traceability matrices across specifications, requirements, and test cases.
• Execute test cases, record results, and generate detailed defect reports.
• Track and manage problem reports through resolution, coordinating with development teams.
• Collaborate with product managers, system engineers, and validation teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Contribute to project planning, scoping, and budgeting for software deliverables.
• Suggest process, tool, and methodology improvements to foster innovation.

Required profile

• Experience in the full lifecycle of embedded software, from requirements definition to testing.
• Ability to lead design and architectural decisions for specific projects.
• Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to three‑day trips).
