Solution Architect – SAP FI/CO (m/f/d)

About the role

Fresenius Kabi is looking for a Solution Architect for SAP FI/CO based in Barcelona (head office). You will design and implement financial and controlling solutions in SAP, ensuring compliance with US-specific standards while contributing to global solution strategies. The role combines project delivery, optimization and advisory work so that financial workflows support both operational and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and architect SAP FI/CO solutions tailored to US business and compliance requirements.
• Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver SAP implementation projects.
• Optimize financial planning, general ledger, reporting and controlling processes.
• Oversee integration of FI/CO with other SAP modules such as MM, SD and PP.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements for financial workflows.
• Govern and guide support teams handling SAP FI/CO maintenance activities.
• Perform system validation and IT housekeeping to safeguard data integrity.
• Contribute as an expert to large-scale transformation programs focused on SAP FI/CO.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or Business Informatics.
• At least 6 years of process knowledge in financial operations, with strong expertise in US financial standards and reporting.
• Minimum 6 years of system knowledge in SAP FI/CO configuration and deployment.
• Proven track record in cross-regional implementations and localized compliance.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; willingness to travel internationally.
• Political and cultural awareness, with experience in global and matrix organizations.

Required skills

• SAP FI/CO configuration and deployment (SAP S/4HANA familiarity preferred).
• ERP architecture and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS and other accounting principles.
• Knowledge of controlled industries such as pharma is an advantage.
