Specialist Tax Projects – International Tax & M&A

About the role

Sibelco is seeking a Specialist Tax Projects to join its Group Tax team in Bilbao. The role offers the chance to work on high‑impact strategic tax projects, supporting mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and cross‑border initiatives while acting as a trusted partner to finance, legal, and leadership teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax guidance on acquisitions, divestments, reorganisations and joint ventures.
• Conduct tax due diligence, identify risks and opportunities, and advise on optimal tax structuring.
• Support cross‑border initiatives such as legal entity rationalisation, financing and cash repatriation.
• Assess Pillar 2 implications of transactions and collaborate on impact analysis.
• Assist with transfer‑pricing strategy, compliance and operational discussions.
• Support local teams during tax audits and provide technical guidance.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of internal tax controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Drive process improvements and leverage technology for efficiency.

Required profile

• Approximately 6–7 years of experience in international tax, transaction tax or a similar role, preferably in a Big 4 or multinational environment.
• Strong analytical skills with a structured, problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively across functions.
