Structural Design Engineer – Composite & Hybrid Structures

About the role

We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer specialized in composite and hybrid structures to join Airbus Defence & Space’s Aerostructures Design team. You will work on cutting‑edge aircraft programmes, applying 3DExperience and digital product innovation to design, validate and certify airframe components.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate composite/hybrid components and assemblies, optimising weight, cost and performance while ensuring safety.
• Define structural architecture of airframe parts and produce manufacturing and assembly documentation.
• Plan, track and deliver structural design outputs, including specifications for purchasing.
• Collaborate in concurrent‑engineering teams with manufacturing, analysis, systems, test and materials engineers.
• Interface with customers, partners and suppliers during design reviews, test reporting and project meetings.
• Prepare and support structural design documentation required for certification.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Mechanics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in aircraft structural design.
• Proven knowledge of composite structures and hybrid material concepts.
• Experience with CATIA and PDM/PLM configuration tools.
• Familiarity with the technical signature and approval process within a design organisation.
