Supplier Development Manager

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) as a Supplier Development Manager within the Supply Chain & Quality Management Team. You will work in a dynamic, international environment to strengthen supplier performance and ensure end‑to‑end supply chain robustness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct supplier assessments and field missions to identify weaknesses, capacity constraints and improvement opportunities.
• Define and execute Corrective, Improvement, and Development (CID) action plans with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, 8D/PPS, APQP, pFMEA, SPC and DMAIC methodologies at supplier sites.
• Lead Transfer of Work (TOW) and New Product Implementation (NPI) projects while mitigating supply chain risks.
• Provide operational recovery support during critical supplier performance issues.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Aeronautical, Industrial, Mechanical or related) or Business Management with strong industrial background.
• At least 5 years of senior‑level experience in supply chain, quality, manufacturing, engineering or procurement in the aeronautic sector.
• Advanced English (mandatory); Spanish and/or German a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, primarily to supplier sites.

Required skills

• Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), 8D/PPS, APQP, pFMEA, SPC, DMAIC.
• APICS fundamentals and end‑to‑end project/supply chain management.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and quality tools.
