System Operations Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Omega CRM, a Merkle company and part of the dentsu group, is looking for a System Operations Engineer to work remotely in Spain. The role covers the operational excellence of a group of systems and applications, keeping them compliant with industry standards, and involves coordinating with business units and IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Compliance documentation and incident, problem and change management
• Backup and recovery coordination, disaster recovery testing and SLA monitoring
• Access and identity monitoring, and coordinating (not performing) server and database patches
• Small software enhancements and configuration changes, and software management coordination
• Remediation, migration or decommissioning of legacy systems, and system archiving and onboarding into the EOC
• Knowledge transfer, shadowing and reverse shadowing during system transitions
• Collecting and processing demands from business users and interfacing with functional areas and IT infrastructure

Required profile

• 2+ years as a System Lead or similar, with proven IT technical support experience
• Good understanding of hardware, software, networking and databases
• Customer-oriented, well organised, excellent written and spoken English, and good presentation skills
• Team player; experience in a regulated or multicultural environment is a plus

Required skills

• Operational Excellence ITIL v3.0 or higher fundamentals certification
• AWS pipeline development (Glue, PySpark, Lambda, S3, SNS, Step Functions, Airflow)
• Snowflake and dbt for data transformation and modelling
• Advanced Python and SQL, CI/CD (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild)
• Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK / CloudFormation); SnapLogic is a plus
