Tax Manager (Direct Tax)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager (Direct Tax) to lead our international direct tax function from Spain. The role is fully remote and will support the company’s global growth by ensuring compliance, optimizing tax processes and providing strategic advice on cross‑border transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and filing of corporate income tax, withholding tax and other direct tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to manage documentation, reporting obligations and maintain compliance with local regulations.
• Identify and mitigate direct tax risks, support tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
• Provide strategic tax advice on international transactions, corporate structures and expansion initiatives.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in international tax legislation, treaties and EU directives.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, HR and other functions to ensure seamless tax reporting.
• Mentor junior tax professionals and drive process improvements through automation and AI‑enabled tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in international direct taxation within a multinational or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of global corporate tax regulations, cross‑border taxation, tax treaties and EU directives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead tax teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent English; additional languages are advantageous.
