Tax Senior

About the role

The Tax Senior will lead tax compliance and advisory assignments, ensuring accurate delivery in line with legislative frameworks and internal standards. Based in Port‑of‑Spain, the role supports timely presentation of tax work for clients and the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Exercise professional scepticism and diligence in all assigned tasks.
• Lead risk‑assessment and planning meetings, record minutes and produce documentation.
• Prepare draft budgets and delegate work to tax team members.
• Ensure quality of taxation documentation, reviewing work of Associates and Assistants.
• Amend relevant legislation when required and modify tax procedures in consultation with senior managers.
• Oversee day‑to‑day tax compliance tasks to meet budget and timetable.
• Review quarterly tax computations, cross‑border transactions and bi‑monthly VAT calculations.
• Review corporation tax, income tax and VAT returns prepared by junior staff.
• Notify senior management of technical, administrative or personnel issues and propose solutions.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to less experienced staff.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified.
• 3‑4 years experience in a professional tax or accounting environment.
• Working knowledge of legislative frameworks, internal standards and procedures.
• Secondary education with at least five O‑levels (including English and Mathematics) or two A‑levels.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
