Technical Leader - SAP BI / BW

About the role

Airbus Helicopters (Albacete, Spain) is looking for a Senior Technical Leader - SAP BI / BW to join the Data & Analytics team within the Digital Campus, a hub for industrial digitalization and innovation. You will act as Technical Leader within an Agile Release Train, building high-performance data products that connect the industrial core (SAP BW) with the big data ecosystem (Palantir Foundry).

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical expert for the Airbus SAP BI platform, with deep knowledge of its architecture, functionalities and data models.
• Guide data engineers and technical teams on using SAP BI for data ingestion, processing, storage, analysis and visualization.
• Design and architect scalable data and analytics solutions aligned with IT architecture and data strategy.
• Lead the integration of SAP BI with other enterprise systems and data sources.
• Monitor and optimize SAP BI performance, troubleshoot issues and ensure platform stability.
• Define and enforce best practices, coding standards and guidelines for SAP BI development and deployment.
• Mentor junior team members and share SAP BI expertise across the organization.
• Act as the main technical contact with the central Airbus SAP BI teams on updates, new features and issues.
• Ensure solutions comply with security policies, data governance and compliance standards, and promote new SAP BI features.
• Create and maintain technical documentation on SAP BI architecture, configurations and best practices.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field.
• Extensive hands-on SAP BI experience (typically 5+ years) in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, LSA++ architectures, computing platforms and data integration tools.
• Fluency in English is essential; French is an advantage.
• Preferred: knowledge of the aviation or aerospace industry and its data challenges.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in the Airbus SAP BI platform, especially SAP BW.
• Data engineering principles and ETL/ELT processes.
• Programming/scripting such as ABAP, HANA views and SQL.
• Performance tuning, troubleshooting and technical documentation.
• Agile development familiarity.
