Travel Counselor - German & English

About the role

Amex GBT is hiring a Travel Counselor fluent in German and English to join its remote team and serve corporate business clients. The role involves advising and arranging travel for individuals and groups, anticipating traveler needs and selling additional services.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers, both individuals and groups
• Analyze and research travel options and proactively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel (air, road, rail and accommodation) of varying complexity
• Use Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) such as Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and Amadeus; training may be provided
• Ensure compliance with customers' travel policies, service provider policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle special customer requests using positive telephone service techniques
• Coach, mentor and give constructive feedback to teammates to improve service levels

Required profile

• Passion for excellent client service and proactive anticipation of needs
• Native-level German and English, written and spoken
• Strong understanding of the travel industry (business travel, leisure travel or airline reservations)
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and independently, with or without suppliers
• Integrity, attention to detail and teamwork with openness to feedback

Required skills

• Native GDS expertise in Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus and/or Galileo
• Professional communication in German and English
