UN Driver – Resident Coordinator Office

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Port of Spain is seeking a reliable driver to support the transport of personnel, documents and goods across the office network and to external partners. The role also includes basic administrative and data‑handling tasks to aid office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive UN vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and, when required, emergency cargo.
• Deliver parcels, documents and other items between the UN office, ministries, embassies and other institutions.
• Collect urgent purchases from local suppliers and handle customs formalities for goods.
• Meet officials at the airport and assist with immigration and customs procedures.
• Maintain assigned vehicles – check oil, water, battery, brakes, perform minor repairs and keep the vehicle clean.
• Log trips, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance activities.
• Follow UN rules and regulations in case of accidents and complete required reports.
• Provide basic administrative support, including operating office ICT equipment and assisting with data collection and simple reporting.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid national driver’s licence; defensive‑driving certificate is desirable.
• Minimum two years of progressive driving experience with a clean record, including experience with vans or similar vehicles.
• Fluency in English (UN Level II); French is an asset.
• Ability to handle basic data‑analytics tasks and prepare simple presentations.
