Underwriting Support Specialist

About the role

AIG's underwriting support team in Madrid contributes to the growth and profitability of the AIG AESA unit by providing administrative support to business units in Europe (Accident and Health, Financial Institutions, Property). You serve internal and external customers by handling administrative tasks, responding to requests, resolving complaints and keeping data quality high.

Key responsibilities

• Work with underwriters and Shared Services Center partners on end-to-end processing of new and renewed policies and approvals
• Liaise with brokers and clients to gather information for quotes and update reviewers when needed
• Maintain systems, book and issue policies, follow up on outstanding invoices and support cancellation letters
• Support collection of and processing of documentation for purchased reinsurance, and liaise with the Collection Department
• Help set up systems and acceptance platforms, troubleshoot workflow management tools, assist with data and portfolio management and support compliance and conduct

Required profile

• Prioritization: able to switch between multiple systems
• Client servicing: anticipates the needs of internal and external clients
• Troubleshooting: identifies problems and solutions
• Attention to detail and good time management
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and a good level of English (French also mentioned)
