Vice President – Private Debt Mobilisation (Export & Agency Finance)

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Vice President to lead Private Debt Mobilisation (PDM) for Export & Agency Finance. Based in the Madrid area, you will shape distribution capabilities, manage syndication processes and support senior underwriting decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead primary syndications in close collaboration with Origination teams, providing input on terms, structure and investor allocations.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, insurance companies and institutional investors to capture market intelligence.
• Draft and review marketing materials such as teasers, information memorandums and mandate letters.
• Review Export & Agency Finance documentation to ensure alignment with PDM requirements.
• Prepare and present underwriting proposals, advising on pricing, syndication strategy and risk management.
• Manage secondary sales activities, coordinating documentation with Middle Office and Agency Desk.
• Maintain departmental databases for accuracy and consistency.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Required profile

• Significant experience in debt finance, syndication or structured finance within a banking environment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate de‑risking alternatives.
• Proven track record of building investor relationships and managing distribution risk.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple regions and teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Export & Agency Finance products.
• Understanding of syndication processes and secondary market sales.
• Familiarity with credit risk assessment and underwriting documentation.
