Alignment Engineer – Marine Propulsion Systems

About the role

Wärtsilä Shaft Line Repair Services (SLRS) is seeking an Alignment Engineer to ensure optimal performance of vessel propulsion systems worldwide. The role involves extensive global travel, with flexibility to work from Spain in a hybrid or remote setup.

Key responsibilities

• Execute on‑site alignment measurements, corrections and adjustments of propulsion components.
• Attend daily repair meetings with customers, shipyards and contractors.
• Analyse measurement data and support commissioning of new builds and repaired installations.
• Supervise machining and repair processes to meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance to on‑site teams and maintain clear communication with head office.
• Prepare detailed service reports and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Safety‑first mindset with high integrity.
• Relevant technical education or equivalent experience in marine alignment services.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work in an inter‑organizational environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
