Analyst, Business Development & Strategy

About the role

The Analyst Business Development & Strategy role supports Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) in Madrid. Working within the Global Banking Business Development team, you will help drive strategic initiatives, monitor portfolio performance and contribute to the overall growth of the division.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio KPIs, monitoring financial and commercial activity across business areas and external advisors.
• Analyse market trends and collaborate with Financial Control, ACPM and other stakeholders.
• Critically evaluate and challenge material, ensuring high technical quality.
• Support the development and execution of the global business strategic plan across geographies.
• Prepare strategic presentations and materials for senior Global Banking management.
• Manage governance adequacy, aligning business practices with SCIB policies and processes.
• Assist in the implementation of business projects to improve efficiency and productivity.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and KPIs.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to support cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing and delivering strategic presentations.
• Understanding of banking products and risk culture.
• Ability to work with senior management and external advisors.
