Autopilot Test Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Autopilot Test Engineer to accelerate vehicle‑level testing for autonomous vehicles. Based in Tarragona, Spain, you will work on real‑world validation of Autopilot firmware, ensuring regulatory compliance across local markets while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute test procedures for active‑safety features and generate detailed test plans.
• Conduct real‑world testing on public roads, test tracks and proving grounds according to defined specifications.
• Triage, analyse and track Autopilot performance, escalating issues to Homologation or Software QA as needed.
• Identify effective test strategies for new and existing features and develop supporting automation tools.
• Analyse test data to verify compliance with federal and internal requirements.
• Collaborate with firmware developers to resolve issues and validate software changes.
• Work with internal engineering teams and external governing agencies to demonstrate compliance.
• Maintain documentation of test vehicle condition and coordinate repairs or retrofits.
• Provide support for other vehicle‑engineering testing activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple parallel programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 40 % domestically and internationally.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB or Python.
• Experience troubleshooting software and hardware in‑vehicle systems.
• Knowledge of CAN bus, ADAS testing and computer‑vision systems.
• Familiarity with homologation testing for active‑safety features is a plus.
