Business Operations & HR Manager

About the role

The company, an international pharmaceutical firm based in Barcelona, is looking for a Business Operations & HR Manager to work directly with the CEO. The role blends project management, operational excellence, and human‑resources functions to turn strategy into results and build a high‑performing, entrepreneurial culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cross‑functional strategic and operational projects, creating detailed plans, timelines, milestones, and dashboards.
• Track project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely execution while maintaining accountability across teams.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Commercial stakeholders and prepare senior‑management presentations and reports.
• Implement operational‑excellence tools and management processes.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, compensation, bonus administration, and HR reporting.
• Maintain HR policies, employee records, and ensure compliance with Spanish labor regulations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day employee matters.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and hands‑on attitude with a problem‑solving mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and accountable.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a sense of ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, HR, operations, or a similar cross‑functional role.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com or similar project‑management tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for building Gantt charts, dashboards, and status reports.
